Tiesha Wilson is a high school physical education teacher with 18 years of coaching experience. Her passion for coaching kids began when she volunteered to coach elementary school students in a YMCA Basketball League. Coach Wilson has led several of her basketball teams to the GHSA State playoffs, earned a Region 4 AAAA Championship, and was awarded Most Positive Girls Coach in South Atlanta of the Year.
Always striving to enhance the lives of the youth on her team, she initiated a partnership with Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Collaborating with FCA proved beneficial for the student-athletes as the organization provides opportunities for students to receive support, training, resources and attend events that focus on installing core values and principles that players will carry with them on and off the court. The partnership Coach Wilson formed with FCA was a success. Soon, all students at Mount Zion High School interested in the FCA platform received the same opportunities as her players to intentionally transform their lives.
Coach Wilson has continued to nurture and serve many kids throughout her coaching and teaching career. Determined to help the youth reach their full potential, she decided to create an organization that would assist her in accomplishing this mission. Pass the Rock Inc. will serve as an extension of her love and compassion by providing youth mentorship, emotional support, development of life skills, and exposure to formative experiences.
As a coach and mentor, Coach Wilson has impacted the lives of many students and athletes. She continues to provide meaningful relationships with former athletes she has groomed to become coaches, too. Equally important, she is the proud mother of Aniyah and wife to Brenda Ross-Wilson.
